PowerToys update gives Windows 11 users new tools to play with

Quickly search the web or switch between windows to always be up to date with the latest version of PowerToys Microsoft has released the latest version of PowerToys for Windows 11, and thanks to the open-source community, power users now have a ton of new features to try.

Although version 0.53 of the software giant’s utility package for power users was originally intended as an incremental release, project contributors were able to add several features including G-code support in the preview pane and browser thumbnails, a web search plug-in, and a new Always On Top utility.

PowerToys were first introduced with Windows 95, then brought back for Windows 10 three years ago. PowerToys are a collection of tools designed to make using the Microsoft operating system as easy as possible. However, these tools are not intended for the average user, but for those who are already familiar with Windows and want to be able to access important features and settings even faster.

The latest version of PowerToys includes new features to help power users be even more productive when using Windows.

The first new feature is the Always On Top utility, which allows users to toggle a focused window to the top by quickly pressing Win + Ctrl + T. However, to bring the window back to normal, all you have to do is to type that key combination a second time on your Windows PC or laptop.

Opening your favorite search engine and browser is now also easier, as it can be done in PowerToys Run by typing “??” it can be done. accompanied by a question. For example, if you type “? What’s the answer to life?” Microsoft Edge Bing Google Chrome and Google Search are displayed along with search results that answer your question.

Microsoft also changed the keyboard shortcut to disable your webcam and microphone from Win+N to Win+Shift+Q to avoid conflicts with an existing Windows 11 keyboard shortcut.
